Exploring Your Issues

Counselling is also about relationships (both with ourself and others) and focusing on difficult emotions such as anxiety, fear and lack of self-esteem. Most of all, counselling can help people feel more in control of their lives and able to do something themself about what isn't right for them, about distressing feelings or about a difficult relationship, rather than feeling helpless, angry or frustrated.

Counselling looks at the way we communicate with each other, helping us become clearer and more direct with what we want to say - for instance learning to be angry without making the other person 'wrong', or learning to ask for what we need rather than being upset because the other person hasn't 'guessed' our needs.
